I think we should completely do away with the school system and pay one of the parents to be the home school teacher. The parents can choose their own curriculum and teach them as much as they want. In the Amanda Collins case, because of her rape and Brianna Denison's rape and murder by James Biela, Amanda sued the college and was allowed to carry her pistol concealed on campus, till she graduated. In Uvalde Texas and all other school shooting, how quickly could the gunman or gunmen been neutrilized if only 10% of the teachers had a concealed carry weapon (CCW) on them? What if 50% of the teachers had a CCW. Why is this question never asked by MSM when a shooting happens? A clear example is compare the Dylann Roof Church murders of 9 members of a Church and the live stream of a gunman entering a Texas Church and being able to only kill one person, before he is neutralized by a member with a CCW. All you have to do is a google video search for "church shooter killed by members", at least seven videos from all MSM will pop up.

Then there is the May 2022 case where a man tried to crash a West Virginia Graduation Party and was forced to leave. He returned with an AR-15 style rifle and was neutralized by a Mom with a CCW, before the gunman could kill anyone. How many would have been killed if the Mom did not have her CCW on her?

My favorite is the the Greenwood Indiana food court shooting. The shooter went into the restroom and came out with his rifle and backpack full of magazines and was neutralized in just 15 seconds, by a man with a CCW. The first call to 911 had not even been connected to 911 and the CCW holder, I believe landed 90% of his rounds on the gunman.

I would not be surprised if you have not even heard of these cases, and I doubt you will do any due diligence to research the true facts. In fact there is a person who was a die hard, gun hating liberal like you, who took the time to do his due diligence and he even started a YouTube channel about the facts. @tinkertoy If you look on the internet, you will see the average cost for each child in the US is well north of $15,000.00 per child. This cost does not include "Capitol Expense", which covers cost such as new school building, new buses and other large "one time cost". The $15,000.00 per child is only the daily recurring cost. I am sure there are a lot of families who would love to have the government pay to have one of the parents to be able to stay home and home school the children. Just think about how many millions of gas and diesel would be saved each year if all the school buses did not have to run.

 

If children are not educated properly about sex, they will learn the wrong way. Sex is not taboo, it is not wrong, it is not something that should be taught as being such. Sex education is necessary so that children understand what consent is and what is and is not acceptable. We shame the human body regularly and that is not acceptable. We should be taught to love and accept our bodies and love and accept other's bodies as well. Sex is not just for reproduction. Sex is a pleasurable experience and a connection with each other that we are comfortable enough to be vulnerable with someone else to engage in.

The only sex education I remember (for what it was worth) was in High School. Certainly did not come from my parents.
Sex is such a big part of our lives and education of sexual facts, and facts only, no preaching, is a need.

This is a 90 minute program that addresses state standards regarding health. It's the only time the subject is discussed. If you have an issue with sex ed, contact your lawmakers.

Kindergarten is a bit too young for graphic sex talk obviously...so I would say that it's a bad idea.
I personally think that it is the parents responsibility to educate their kids about sex gradually as they mature, but that's just me. I understand that the subject needs to be taught to a certain degree in schools, but as far as the heavier stuff goes, it should begin right around puberty in my opinion.

There are corporations that give lots of money to fund the topic of trans gender for young school children.
I even find that insane. I would say when they reach puberty and the correct age to explore they should do so and not make any decisions until they are young adults.
