  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

The Galaxy note 7 cellphone is a ticking timebomb and if you own one, you might want to turn it off until you can have it replaced for another model.

Samsung is dragging their ass on a fix and this could spell disaster for them, as should be.

Like I said with other electronics and even software, companies are obsessed with pumping out new models every 3 months and don't take any time to perfect the current more than adequate models.

Airlines are telling all passengers with Galaxy 7's that they are not allowed to be powered up during flight as are rail transport operators.

Thats pretty wild. One more reason to add to my list of reasons for keeping my ass on the ground.

A cellphone is now a terrorist device. If they are so dangerous why allow them onboard at all? Especially in an age of terrorism.

Through all the years of flying,i have never liked it.Even as a youngster,i thought about how certain things should be changed, everything from the builds/build quality,to regulations themselves. When we do fly overseas,a 21-24hr flight one way,its actually frustrating and uncomfortable as hell to me with my medical condition.Although just my opinion,As a former Communications Officer in the Navy, and former IT guy,i feel all these gadgets shouldnt be allowed on board.

The federal government is discouraging people from bringing a certain cell phones on airplanes.

That's because the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is under recall, and could burst into flames.

One owner says he barely escaped after a phone set his car on fire.

"It was very surprising to me how quick the dash caught on fire," said Note owner Nathan Dornacher.

There's not much left of Dornacher's Jeep after a Labor Day fire ripped through its interior.

"That's the last thought in my head, is that a brand new device, something as simple as a phone is going to burn down my car," he said.

Dornacher left his Samsung Galaxy Note 7 charging on the center console while briefly going inside his house.

"The fire was going up through the dash here," he said.

Local fire authorities and Samsung are still investigating the exact cause of the explosion, but it follows at least 35 similar phone fires around the world that Samsung blames on faulty batteries.

Last Friday, the company recalled all 2.5 million units it shipped since the phone's launch.

The FAA's action does not outright ban the devices from airplanes. Instead the agency "...strongly advises passengers not to turn on or charge" them.

"Samsung will ultimately recover but I think it's obviously bad press. I think that Samsung's going to take a big hit with this one because it looks bad," said Matt Novak, with Gizmodo.

I missed a flight one night back when I was an onboard courier and the plane crashed and killed everyone on it when it had to avoid a snowplow on the runway ...

I love flying, just don't like the idea of crashing !!!

Cell phones have been a terrorist tool since they were invented. No surprise there.
That said, you get on an airplane, turn your fucking phone off. I don't want to hear it.

Welcome to the age of "anti-social" behavior.

Social media is an oxymoron and is a disease if you let it rule your life ...

I caught part of the Dr. Oz show today in regard to a quiz that will determine how anti-social we have become as a society and if you would rather text/email someone (from real life) instead of phoning/visiting them, you are already well on your way ...

This is the stupid part - my wife still drives long haul (I did for a while but had to give it up) and, of course, has a cell phone. I get texts (which annoy the hell out of me) and emails all the time. I don't mind knowing where she is, the weather, yadda yadda yadda, but I have trouble responding in texts on my phone...I have severe diabetic neuropathy in both hands (and feet), and the small keypad on my phone is a pain in the ass for me to use. Will she call, and we can have a conversation to convey the same information in less time and with less effort? No, she has to text. Why? It's a goddamned cell phone, for fuck's sake.

And I thought this thread was about using a smart phone to remote control a checked bomb.

Amazing THAT hasn't happened yet. On an Apple iPhone, a Blackberry, or ANY wireless device.

Lithium battery transport has been banned on airplanes for some time now and is even suspected of bringing down MH370. It was carrying a large shipment of Lithium-ion batteries.

Lithium-ion batteries banned as cargo on passenger flights

The UN aviation agency has prohibited cargo shipments of lithium-ion batteries on passenger aircraft over concerns by pilots and plane makers that they are a fire risk.

The International Civil Aviation Organization’s 36-state governing council said the prohibition would be in effect as of 1 April and remain in force until a new fire-resistant packaging standard was designed to transport the batteries.

Lithium-ion batteries, which are rechargeable, can still be transported on cargo planes.

The new packaging standard was expected by 2018, said ICAO council president Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu said in a statement.

The ban would be mandatory for states that are members of the ICAO. Shipping lithium-metal batteries – which are not rechargeable – was already banned on planes.

Pilots and aircraft manufacturers are concerned that existing standards are not strong enough to contain lithium battery fires.

A 2015 working paper by an organisation representing plane makers like Boeing found current firefighting systems on airliners could not “suppress or extinguish a fire involving significant quantities of lithium batteries”.

But one dangerous goods expert familiar with ICAO’s thinking questioned whether a ban on lithium-ion batteries would make passenger planes safer. He said instances of such battery fires usually involved deliberate mislabelling by shippers.

“When the industry banned the shipment of lithium-metal batteries, we saw instances of them being passed off as lithium ion batteries,” said the expert, who was not authorized to speak publicly. “Those people who are not complying now won’t comply with a prohibition.”

Lithium Batteries Could Spark ‘Catastrophic’ Plane Fires, FAA Warns

Lithium ion batteries power our phones, laptops, and cameras –- but if handled improperly, they also have the power to potentially bring down a plane.

Following a series of disquieting tests, the FAA today issued a safety alert warning airlines that transporting these batteries as cargo carries the “risk of a catastrophic hull loss.”

Lithium ion battery fires can lead to a “catastrophic explosion,” which fires suppression systems are “incapable of preventing,” the FAA said in the alert.

Such fires downed Boeing 747s in Dubai and South Korea in 2010 and 2011, killing all crew members (no passengers were on board). Then, a series of battery fires in the batteries of Boeing 787s prompted the FAA to ground the entire Dreamliner fleet in 2013.

As recently as late last year, a smoking lithium ion battery in a flight attendant’s credit card reader prompted an emergency landing in Buffalo.

The FAA is now urging airlines to conduct safety assessments and reevaluate their lithium ion battery protocols.

Most commercial passenger airlines voluntarily prohibit rechargeable lithium ion batteries, and just last month, a UN panel recommended banning rechargeable lithium battery cargo from all passenger jets.

However, a recent FAA funding bill failed to ban shipping such batteries by air.

wp_ss_20160914_0001 (2).png Reviews on the methods implemented within these trade acts would be a good start, and more than just assigning another new department,employee/s,and taxpayer funded studies..actual laws that are more parallel would be a start.Remember the airbags exploding?,Takata,i think the companys name was...seems quite the monopoly under a so called global trade law, that one company alone,was/is handling nearly all car manufacturers airbags.Hows this actually benefiting our economy?,and thats just one company..Now,its batteries, and here we go again with China slapping all kinds of brand labels on batteries, that even have UL approved labels being slapped on,shipped, then exploding hoverboards and electronic gadgets everywhere..and this type of trade practice isnt deemed to be an security threat for our nation?PissPoor Security protocols as well as Government for America.
