South Africa’s Tyler Lange won the men’s elite Cape Town Cycle Tour in perfect conditions on Sunday.
Lange, still only 21, crossed the line in a time of 2:25:47.
His compatriot Reinardt Janse van Rensburg took second place in the same time, with another local rider, Jaedon Terlouw, rounding out the podium, one second further adrift.
The men’s elite race covered 109km.
Tyler Lange is the son of previous Cape Town Cycle Tour winner, Malcolm Lange.
Women’s race
Earlier, Germany’s Pia Grünewald of LKT Team Women won the women’s elite Cape Town Cycle Tour.
Grünewald crossed the line in a record time of 2:05.17.
S’annara Grove (South Africa) took second place (2:06.48) with another German, Seana Littbarski-Gray, rounding out the podium in (2:06.49).
Grünewald broke clear shortly after the start of the race and time-trialled her way to victory by a yawning 1:31 margin.
The women’s elite race covered 78km.
